What specifically will a course look like? The right-hand side of the screen shows a library icon with a course handout attached that you can download. We recommend that you download the handout first so that you can refer to it as necessary when you go through the course. Some course handouts are only 1 page long, whereas others are several pages in length and are important for the course content.
Our first Online Courses consist of a number of "slides". There is a slide to describe the program, one to give you the learning objectives, and one to give you information about the presenter.
The next slide (or group of slides) consists of a video that you need to "play" on Real Player (free software...see free download link on prior page). Once you have Real Player on your computer, you just have to click on the "launch" key (or arrow key on the video screen) to start the video. Be sure your speakers are turned on and your volume control is set to your liking.
You can stop a video at any time and play it again later, but please make a note of where you stopped so you can more easily go to the same spot later. When you go back to that video, you need to move the small scroll bar back to the same area of the video where you had stopped it.
When you are done with the video(s), you need to take a Post Test for continuing education credit. Courses require a passing grade of 70%. You can take the post test a second time. So if you do not pass the first time, simply review the materials and take it again! After successfully passing the test, just fill out a Course Evaluation, go to the Conclusion slide where you can click on and print your Certificate of Completion, and you're done! |
